Houston Culinary Awards

Time for the "foodie Oscars" of Houston last night at the Houston Culinary Awards. MyTable Magazine does a great job with this, recognizing the best Houston has to offer and I was thrilled to attend! With more than 7,000 (fully vetted!) votes cast, there was a lot to celebrate. Highlights for me included Bernie's Burger Bus for best burger (if you haven't experienced their burger, you need to!); and Randy Evans for Chef of the Year ... couldn't happen to a nicer or more talented person who has done so much for the Houston culinary community and beyond. Love. Chris Shepherd won for Restauranteur of the Year and Underbelly won a number of other categories - awesome. Uchi won for Best New Restaurant in an especially tough category that included Roost, Oxheart and Pizaro's Pizzeria among others (speaking of something you need to eat if you haven't already).
